VOLUNTEERING for the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Foundation is fun and rewarding! In the 13 years SALEF has been in existence, hundreds of supportive and generous individuals and businesses have donated their time and expertise toward the Foundation programs and events. Without our amazing volunteers, we would not be able to provide the events and programs that generate the crucial funds needed to support and help protect our local law enforcement officers.
Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Foundation conducts several fundraising events each year. Volunteer assistance is always needed. You can sit on an event planning committee or assist on event days.
Some of our volunteer opportunities include:
Foundation Office Assistance Program – work in the Foundation office during the week. Flexible hours are available. Assistance is especially needed in the months and weeks preceding our event days. Duties would include answering phones, disseminating information regarding Foundation programs and events, registering participants, data entry, filing and running errands.
Unsung Heroes Awards Celebration – This is the Foundation’s premier fundraising celebration of the year. Volunteers are needed to assist with event set up, check in and hosting our guests and Honorees.
Annual Casino Gala – Each year SALEF presents an exquisite themed gala at Loews Ventana Canyon. 2020 was ‘Puttin’ on the Ritz’ Roaring 20’s Casino Gala. The 2021 gala will be themed Wild Wild West Casino Gala. Volunteers are needed to check in our guests, oversee the photo booths, and assist at the auction tables.
Cops & Rodders Car Show – An amazing atmosphere of classic cars, trucks and motorcycles. This outdoor event takes place in the parking lot of the Kino Sports Complex. Volunteer opportunities include set up, supervising the kids activities, event day tasks, raffle tickets sales, registration check in, and clean up.
Canine Walk for Cops– This is a one-mile dog walk event on the University of Arizona mall. The walk takes place on a cool spring morning in March. Assistance is needed for early morning set up, parking supervising, registration, path aid stations, doggie contests and awards, raffle prize distribution and clean up.
